Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday highlighted the inclusivity of Indian youth as a major driver of the nation’s development, while addressing the Rozgar Mela event via video conference. During the event, over 51,000 appointment letters were distributed to newly recruited candidates across various government departments.

PM Modi underscored the pivotal role of the youth in building a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India), urging them to work with honesty and dedication to strengthen the country’s economy, internal security, and infrastructure, and to uplift the lives of workers.

“Today, more than 51,000 youth have been given permanent government job appointment letters. Your responsibility is to strengthen the country’s economy, enhance internal security, modernise infrastructure, and bring positive change to labourers’ lives. Your honesty and dedication will drive India’s progress towards becoming a developed nation,” he said.

Highlighting inclusivity as the standout feature of India’s youth, the Prime Minister stressed that the active participation of every section of society accelerates national growth. He praised women’s achievements, citing their growing leadership in bureaucracy, space, and science, and celebrated the recent UPSC results where women secured top ranks.

“When youth participate in nation-building, the country not only develops rapidly but also gains global recognition. Today, daughters of India are excelling in every field, from bureaucracy to space exploration,” PM Modi said.

He also outlined the government’s efforts to empower rural women through initiatives like Bank Sakhi, Krishi Sakhi, and the expansion of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), which now include over 10 crore women members. The government has increased the budget for SHGs fivefold and offers collateral-free loans up to ₹20 lakh.

Additionally, PM Modi announced that Mumbai will host the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES 2025), positioning it as a major platform for young creators and innovators.

“Our youth are central to WAVES 2025, where they will find new opportunities to showcase their creativity and innovation to the world,” he concluded.
